Oh also thought (at nearly 3am) I'd mention this reminds me a lot of the crime noir masterpiece M. With M, it was the first time ever movie makers were using sound in films, so they came up with the clever little idea that the bad guy in it would whistle a tune whenever he came on screen. It was crime noir... It was a masterpiece... It was epic= YOU WIN for reminding me of it with this.
